Sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO), World Health Day is dedicated to spreading the message of the importance of health and healthcare for all, with the WHO stating on their World Health Day page “this campaign aims to help people better understand what universal health coverage means”. A shocking statistic provided by the WHO details that “about 100 million people are pushed into extreme poverty each year because of out-of-pocket spending on health”.
